VONO das sind Volker und Norbert. Angefangen haben wir mit einem Synthi im Wohnzimmer. Bald drängte es uns an die Öffentlichkeit, denn Anfang der 80er Jahre war die Zeit ideal für neue Bands. Ein Name war schnell gefunden. Die Anfangsbuchstaben der Vornamen. Für die ersten beiden LP's DINNER FUER 2 und MODERN LEBEN setzten wir ausschließlich elektronische Instrumente ein. Wir wollten beweisen, dass elekronische Musik nicht kalt und tot ist und verstanden uns als Mischung aus Mensch und Maschine. Wir spielten miteinander! Das Ergebnis: Klare überschaubare Musik mit sarkastischen deutsch gesungenen Texten.
VONO are VOlker and NOrbert. We are an electronic duo based in Berlin, Germany. Between 1983 and 1984 VONO and Stefan Kaske produced 2 LP's DINNER FUER 2 and MODERN LEBEN for SKY RECORDS. This LP's exclusively made with electronic instruments. The result: A legendary experimental electronic music with sarcastic German lyrics.
In 1986 VONO and Martin Irnich produced the LP IT'S TIME for TNT RECORDS. The drummer Berthold Schmitt became for this LP and the It's Time tour the 3rd VONO. Next to the electronic instruments also "natural" instruments were used on this LP. VONO's Soundwall was born.
In 1998 NO heard poems of Robert lax. The person of Robert Lax, his poems and stories impressed him very much. VONO dedicated the CD LAXMANIA to Robert Lax. This CD was made exclusively with Samples.
